Lovely view and friendly staff. However room disappointing - slats in balcony roof would not open so could not get sun. Food in restaurant very poor, peculiar menu with mostly sharing platters - made ordering difficult as had no idea of quantity. Meat dishes used poor cuts with a lot of fat (lamb ribs and pork belly), chicken was not available. Our selection of wine was also not available. Mushroom was not available for breakfast, so would definitely not recommend eating there.

Amazing place to stay. We were very impressed with the friendly staff and hot tubs! They were wonderful considering the cold! We were a bit stumped by the $150 we had to pay up front for the refundable bond, this was unexpected. So I would advise they inform people before hand to save the unexpected surprise and to make sure they have the available funds. We cant wait to return!

The facility & service for the room cost is overrated

Was disappointed I expected more.
On arrival we were asked to pay a $500 cash bond regardless of the voucher, as it was unexpected we didnt have the funds available, they then lowered the bond to $200 and removed the minibar. We did not receive any chocolates on arrival, or at all, as stated, and they did not have any knowledge of the spa treatment until researched. So overall we were a little dissapointed from the time we arrived.

Good stay; not sure it's worth $500 though.
Arrived at Paihia resort at 2.30, check in was from 2 pm onwards. We were told our room would not be ready for another hour and a half. We were not offered anything to pass the time until I asked if we could use the pool and spa while we waited. This was fine, but a little disappointing that we couldn't make the most of our short stay. THe room was lovely, with a great view. Staff were friendly. Breakfast was good. Swapped the treatment for massages- one was great other not so impressive. Would recommend the place but not sure I could justify spending my own money to stay there.
